Welcome to our Neighborhood!
The characteristics and history of this neighborhood make it both unique and appealing.
Currently, there are over 1,200 residents representing diverse cultural backgrounds providing a unique
living experience of cultural diversity allowing for a rich mix. There is a collection of 900 households within our
community displaying both modern as well as historical architecture. Our neighborhood's first
households range back to the 1850’s.
The Fairmont Neighborhood is located within the city of Kalamazoo, 45 miles east of Lake
Michigan and only 3/4 mile from Downtown Kalamazoo. Our neighborhood association
is an active 501 C3 member.
The Fairmont Neighborhood is in the Kalamazoo Public Schools district; the only
public school district in the country offering college scholarships to its high school
graduates.
